A Habitat for Artists
“St. Kliment Ohridski” 1997 Community College is a space for sheltering artists. A habitat for all forms of Fine Art. That’s why from 2021 we have been organizing a plein air for artists.
Each edition of the International Plein Air “Bosilegrad in Colours” concludes with a major exhibition. The Organizers of the Plein Air are the Association “GLASS” from Bosilegrad and “Sts. Kliment Ohridski 1997“ Students Community Centre from Sofia. The 17 artists represent each of the participating countries – Bulgaria, Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Ukraine.
The Plein Air is open as to the theme of the works, and inspiration comes from the encounter with the town, nature and people. The seven days of work foster creative and cultural exchange across generations of artists inspired by the landscapes of the Municipality of Bosilegrad, its attractive tourist sites and local lore.
The hosts of the Plein Air Workshop in Bosilegrad introduce the participants to the cultural and historical sites on the territory of the municipality, and for this purpose several visits to the beautiful villages of Izvor, Bozica, Raičišlovci, as well as the traditional visit to Lake Vlasina are planned. In Bulgaria, the plein air artists visit the Museum of Vladimir Dimitrov, Maistora t(he Master) in the village of. Shishkovtsi and “Vladimir Dimitrov – Maistora” Art Gallery in Kyustendil. Dwelling places of spirit and talent.
