Mission

The mission of the Students' Community Centre "St. Kliment Ohridski" 1997 is to care for the social, spiritual, cultural, educational, creative and professional needs of the youth. In Sofia. In Sredets district.

Objectives

  • Preserving the customs, folklore, culture and traditional values of the Bulgarian people.
  • Creation of an information pool and network for the collection and dissemination of knowledge and information about Bulgarian traditional culture, history, ethnography and folklore.
  • Encouraging young people to organise and create art collectives, ensembles and cultural education associations for culture and cultural tourism among the youth within the country and abroad.
  • Elaborating programmes, strategies and analyses related to culture, education and democratic practices and their impact on young people.
  • Maintaining working teams and units for the implementation of various programmes related to culture, youth activism, education, democratic practices and civil society development.
  • Implementing joint projects with student and youth organisations related to civil society, culture and history.
  • Providing joint activities and co-productions with theatres and other cultural institutions at home and abroad.
  • Initiating and implementing programmes related to people from disadvantaged and vulnerable groups.
  • Encouraging and providing assistance and support to talented students for their realization as full citizens of Bulgaria.
  • Supporting and publishing young authors and providing a favourable environment for the rise of young talents.
The Community Centre

History

Students Community Centre "St. Kliment Ohridski" was established in 1997 by students, public figures and alumni of the oldest higher education institution in Bulgaria - Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" with the aim of promoting civil society and its values among the students and the youth of Bulgaria.

The activities of the Students' Community Centre "St. Kliment Ohridski" are linked to the revival of Bulgarian traditions, spirit and culture in the context of the new realities and the idea of a united Europe.
