The implementation of the project “Modern Community Center” is underway, which is implemented with the financial support of Sofia Municipality – Program “Europe” 2024 by the Foundation for Bulgarian Literature in partnership with the Student Community Center “St. Kliment Ohridski”. The “Modern Community Center” project will help our relatively young community center to adopt policies and good practices that will develop its potential for positive change in the community. Within the framework of the project, a 5-year strategy (2025-2030) of the Student Community Center will be developed, and in its preparation the interests of the direct beneficiaries of the Community centre’s activities (young people wishing to develop professionally as artists) will be covered, as well as to ensure synergy with the existing priorities of the regional administration and Sofia Municipality.
Traditionally, the community center is perceived as an example of a sustainable cultural institution with a specific mission for the preservation and development of the traditional values of the nation. Its classic functions in the community, however, need to be updated and like any organization, the Community centre needs to adopt a more professional and strategic approach to their activities. Most community the community center maintain a good information base for their activities, develop annual plans and submit them to the relevant administrations, but rarely have longer-term strategic documents.
The Youth Work Program and Strategic Documents prepared within the project will have an action horizon of 2025 – 2030. Each of them will be approved by the governing bodies of the partner and institutional beneficiary of the project, Student Community Center “St. Kliment Ohridski” 1997 and will serve as a basis for all future activities of the community center.
